Opened in 1998, the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center (SVHEC) located in Abingdon, Virginia, has outgrown its original facility. As a result of the Addition project, the Center will be able to further increase the number of academic degree programs and the number of students who can attend classes in the southwest region of Virginia. The project will consist of a single-story, 5,559 gsf addition on the eastern side of the existing facility and provide a paved circular driveway in front of the facility. The Addition seeks to match the Center's existing architecture and finishes.
